Tour Dash

Referrals to the platform

Referrals used to mean an agent handing a client to another agent for a share of the commission. That only ever ran on sample data in the demo, and on live the page said referrals were not open yet. Now Referrals means bringing people onto Tour Dash: every agent and vendor gets an invite link, and the page lists everyone who signed up with it.

Status Built and committed (72814aa), checked on /demo. It goes live once the database migration is run and the app is deployed. Reward None yet. The page tracks who joined and makes no promise about a reward.

What the page does

The Referrals page in the demo: an invite link with Copy link and Share buttons, a summary of 3 joined and 2 working, and a list of three people who joined.
The demo account. The link, the copy and share buttons, and the three sample people who joined through it.

The link is /signup?ref=<code>, where the code is seven letters and digits, with no 0, O, 1, I or L so it can be read aloud. Someone who clicks it can look around the site first: the code is kept from the first page they land on and goes with them through signup. On the first signup screen they see who invited them.

Each person on the list shows whether they are an agent or a vendor, when they joined, and whether they have finished a job. The two numbers on the side are how many joined and how many have done a job.

Vendors get the page too. It was agent-only before because commission referrals only made sense between licensed agents.

02

What was removed

The commission referral system: the sample referrals, the sent/accepted/under contract/closed track, the broker invoice buttons, the licence check that gated sending one, the 0% referral fee constant, the Referrals line in the admin marketplaces panel, the referral rows on How it works, the referral note at the bottom of Sell a lead, and the sentence about referrals in the Terms. Leads are untouched.

To go live

Run supabase/platform-referrals-migration.sql on the live project. It gives every existing account a code, adds the column that records who referred whom, adds a signup trigger that fills it in, and locks both fields so nobody can edit them from their own profile. A bad or unknown code never blocks a signup.

Until the migration runs, the page says invite links are not switched on yet. Then the app gets deployed.

Still open: whether there is ever a reward, and what it would be.
